Sydney – Day 1 (4/6/23)

Wowzerz ! As if I’m here ! Officially down under hahaha I keep singing that song ‘ have you been to a land down undaa’. Glad to have had a chill night last night and slept so long was so good.

I got up got ready and caught the fast train to wynyard to meet Shannon !!!!! a friend I met when I went to Switzerland in January ! was so amaizng to see her again. She planned such a great day and It was so Lovely to catch up !! I was so so grateful to her !

We instantly saw the bridge and the Sydney opera house I was so shocked I didn’t think it would be right there hahaha I was so happy !! We caught a ferry to Manly Beach on like a public transport ferry so cool hahaha

When we got to manly there was a market on ! Was so fun just mooching about. The Australian dollar to pound ratio is crazy I’m going round thinking things are like so so so over priced haha

We then walked along the beach to the other side which was amazing AND WE SAW DOLPHINS !!! There was about two and they kept coming out !! It was like someone hired them to come out at the perfect moment it was insane ! I couldn’t belive it

Then we went swimming !! So fun !! So crazy to think the dolphins were right there haha

After our swim we went and had lunch on a rooftop it was so great !

Then got ferry back hahaha I keep taking photos of the same thing because I keep being in awe

We got an ice cream and walked around the Sydney opera house ! Was so so fun amazing to be that close ! Feel like I’m in the moviessss

After this we walked back and said bye ! Was so so happy seeing Shaz again was so so lovely !

I got back to the hostel had the most amazing shower haha it was so strong I could have stayed under there for ages haha. Then I had a big nap. I really didn’t want to because I wanted to make the most of every second but my eyes just closed and I was in dream land. BUT SHE RESURRECTED and I went down to eat my noodles in the kitchen.

Wasn’t there long before I got chatting with people who were going to the Vivid Festival in the evening, it’s a free light festival all around Sydney Harbour and surrounding areas and there was a drone show on tonight !!! So I got ready and we got the bus to the harbour.

OH MY the drone show was ridiculous !! It was like watching magic or something ! The city lights looked amazing and there was so many buildings with lights being projected onto them was amazing (I don’t really know how I keep arriving at places where things just happen to be on while I’m here hahahah)

Tried to speed it up to show ahahahah
Where were going we don’t need roads DAAADAA DAAA (i can’t keep doing the back to the future music 😂)

It was so funny we all kept shouting SYDNEYYY really loud to try and make it sync in where we were ahhaha feels like I’m dreaming !

What an amazing day. Got back and fell asleep straight away ! Haha ready for another dayyyyy tomorrowwwww

  1. So impressed with the drone show. I wonder what all the drones do when they are off duty. Do they have other jobs, or do they just sit in a case somewhere. It’s amazing isn’t it. I think the opera house looks smaller in your pictures than in some that I’ve seen. It’s hard to get a sense of scale.
